Yes, if everyone on this planet planted 3 trees, global warming could be prevented.
If you take into account that not everyone can plant trees (some are too young, disabled, poor, ignorant, etc.) Then if each person able to plant trees could plant 9 -11 trees, then global warming could be prevented.
But- if you realize that not every planted tree will actually grow (human error, natural problems, etc.) then if every person able to could plant 20 -30 trees, I am sure that global warming could be prevented.
Even better, if everyone who could do it, planted 75 trees, that would bring on another Ice Age. Seriously, Al Gore said it recently, and he was serious.
This Ice Age would also reverse the geological processes that pose bigger threats than global warming ever will. Volcanoes are going to begin erupting, wiping the planet clean of us parasitic humans. (Yellowstone is due to erupt any day now, give or take a few thousand years.)
In the time you wasted reading this, you could have planted a tree or two.

Well ANY vegetation pulls CO2 from the air. That's just how plants grow.

However the idea that humans are causing (and conversely capable of changing) Global Warming is more political than scientific.

Doesn't hurt to plant a few trees, but do it because you like the look or want the fruit, because a tree doesn't really trap that much carbon. If you want to reduce your 'carbon footprint' conservation is far more relevant than tree planting.

Nothing. At the point we are in right now, we better figure out how to keep the warming continuing. It is getting awfully cold and will be getting colder. The high in NY is projected to 6 degrees in the next week. Do you think it should be lower? There are a multitude of factors that contribute to the planet's temperature. There is not one single ingredient that cools or warms the planet. Should we add more CO2 and cut down more trees to warm the planet? Should we add more water which is the greatest greenhouse gas and has kept us alive. Should we eliminate farm animals that emit tons of methane gas so we can save the planet from people who use farm animals for subsistence? What is your answer? Stop driving cars, kill all farm animals, stop eating meat, stop using coal to power electricity for our computers. Where does that leave us? In the Dark Ages. If you want to return to those times, be my guest.

To reverse what we have already done it would take billions of full grown trees to reabsorb the co2, that would take years and is not nearly fast enough to help the rapidly changing weather patterns...and people who say global warming is a myth you honestly need to wake up! This planet has a routine... Heat up, cool down, heat up etc... But the fact still remains that we have speeded up this process through pollution of every kind creating a gradual inbalance which will result in the extinction of many species of plant, insect, fish, reptile, mammal including humans and it's all down to us, the only way to stop it is to let it happen, once we have gone normality will return.

If Global warming is real and not just another phase the earth is going through then no, Just planting tree's will not help much.. We need to put in place alternative energy sources like Solar power, hydro power, wind power, etc... Things that can produce power with out any byproducts...

Don't be taken in by this global warming nonsense, the planet is always warming, it is increased at a faster rate by all the radiation we pump into the atmosphere from nuclear energy which generates tremendous heat and takes hundreds of years to decay; of course the sciencists won't talk about that because they are to wrapped up in trying to prove each other wrong, the same as doctors are and that is why cures for cancer, mainly caused by excessive radiation exposure, may never be cured in our lifetime; why would they cure us, they would be out of a job.

Nope! We've already crossed the point of no return. Global warming is coming and there is no longer any way to stop it. The super-rich have chosen riches over the sustainable health of the planet. All we can do now is watch the catastrophe unfold.

Though u love nature, first u should try to implemented the tree plantation in ur area and try to convincing ur near and dear for tree plantation.U have to do first and try to give clearcut idea about the global warming.so i think everyone should planting trees but we have to take our own dission.because prevention is better than cure.

Nope. As a matter of fact I ripped up baby trees by the hundreds this weekend. I'm thinking about cutting down and burning hundreds of trees about 8 to 10 feet tall that are driving me crazy.
