$50 is a bit much. My daughter gets $20 a months for keeping her room clean, helping around the house and doing homework.
But I also pay her cell phone bill.

you're 13, .... from when i was 13 till just recently, i only got $16 a month, $4/week for my chores. if i wanted things really badly, i just saved for it or lived w/o it. really what do you need, you don't need to buy clothes that often once every three months is fine, i still don't get new clothes that often even now and i'm 17.... right now i'm earning about $50 a month (from a part time job),it depends on how many hours i work each month, but that really is more than enough for me to get clothes if i want, or buy what ever, but i've learned it's best just to use what you have already.... i put about 50-75% of my income into savings....(helpful to save for college even in middle school.....it costs alot....)

WTF? Shameful. Back in my day we did things around the house for free. There wasnt a such thing as allowence so count your blessings!

Just kidding, but seriously, what could you need that would cost more than $50 a month? When your only 13? Plus if you get it for cleaning your room, thats gotta take you like what an hour? Thats good money. Dont screw with a good thing.

A teenage female could get a weekly allowance. My childrens are 2.5 years old and four years old; they get a weekly allowance. Granted, that is no longer plenty ($a million.00 a week!) besides the shown fact that it is coaching them the fee of money. in specific situations they placed their money of their piggy banks and different cases they % to spend it on something like candy or somewhat toy. while i became into thirteen, my mum and dad have been giving me $20 a week.

Whoa! That's waaay too much! Why would a 13 year-old need 50 a month??

No. It's a terrible rate. If you need that much money at 13, then you need to find less expensive hobbies.

I think it,
cuz a 13 year old is at that age where its not like they're going out every friday to the mall blowing all their cash.

I think so, but I think that you should have to earn it. Your room is your room and your responsibility. You shouldn't EARN money for cleaning it! You should do housework and chores that benifit the entire family unit. If you pitch it and help out, then that sounds extremely resonable.
