She has been so mean to me since this happened. First she hid the remote control in the toilet and then she wrote me hateful, hurtful notes saying things like "you're a pig/i hate you," etc. What is her problem?

How dare you. You sleep with your mother in law and then have the gull to ask whats wrong with your wife? Maybe you should take a step back and think of what she may be going through. She wasnt only hurt by another guy, but she was betrayed by her mother~someone that was supposed to be her best friend.
Wow! Im amazed that all youre wife has done is hide the damn remote.

Hello!?! you slept with your wife's mother...wouldn't she feel hurt!?! Think about it, she's not the one with the problem. She's just expressing how she feels and you should apologize to her (like with necklaces, bracelets, diamonds, flowers, chocolate, "I'm sorry" notes and things...though probably even that won't even make up for 5 % of it.)
