Yes, and doctor's have found out this actually happens. It is named the "Broken Heart Syndrome." It can show up when someone has gone through the loss of a loved one and causes stress on the heart.

Oh YES, probably the worst time was when my mother died but also when I've lost patients that had become special to me for various reasons. I can only describe it as a physical pain and huge lead-like weight that doesn't move.

Yep!

And I had a friend who put it into words for me....

He said....

"Why is it called 'a broken heart'? It should be called something like 'ripped guts'."

Made me weep too. But I guess, for most of us, it's really like 'ripped guts' more than 'broken heart'.

Don't ever try to erase it. It will always be a part of you. Don't let it be disabling, let it empower you, let it help make you more like the person you want to be.

Yes! I'm heart-broken now, but it is getting better. Like a cut, it takes time to heal.

come on ppl, real answers please. First off, the pain your feeling is a physical component of a chemical being released into your blood. Its sole purpose is to reduce your breathing in order to reduce your heart rate (calm you down). This is for your own good, as obviously you need to take a breather and re asses your life. Remember, even when you may think that nobody loves you, your body adores you!
