When I first started using Yahoo Answers it appeared to have a lot of helpful people and a few annoying users who posted pointlessly or displayed other rude behavior. Recently I have noticed that many great answers by people are receiving thumbs down when it seems unwarranted. I use the thumbs up and thumbs down when I feel strongly about something. I am curious are people doing this just to be annoying or do you have a reasonable reason that I am just not aware of? I am hoping it is not simply because you want your answer to be the only one that does not have a thumbs down. I hope you might be more mature then that. Alas.....am I dreaming?

I totally hear you!! I think the thumbs down should be used if someone gives clearly inaccurate information, or if their response is blatantly rude. But I get really annoyed when people just give "thumbs down" because they don't agree with what you said. It really irks me when I have answered a question really thoughtfully, and don't see anything offensive in my answer. I really try to be fair in my answers, and sometimes see "thumbs down" for what I think is no good reason! I'm glad you asked this question!!

Like you, I only use the thumbs up or thumbs down when I feel really motivated by an answer to do so. Mostly, I use the thumbs up. The rest of the time, though, I scarcely notice it, although I have come to know that very often my opinions are seldom shared by a lot of people. Maybe that knowledge is why I don't have a lot of interest in the "scoring" of answers.

I agree! I dont supply thumbs down except the guy is rude to myself or somebody else...which isn't often. Y!A sucks all jointly now nonetheless :( EDIT - I advise why supply TD's to all of us who has replied so a approaches? so a approaches as i will see, no one has stated something that merits a TD. And Noah's Mommy continuously provides good solutions, people are patently only jealous. EDIT 2- i'm additionally unwell of having my questions and solutions deleted for no reason! I asked 2 probability free questions interior the adolescent section which didnt violate any guildelines and the two have been deleted :|

sometimes it is annoying but everyone has their own opinion and their right to express it..o well can't do much about it anyway!
