I think you're onto something, but I don't think it's the turkey industry -- at least not the turkey industry alone, because the turkey industry will be just fine without Thanksgiving. Who would REALLY suffer without Thanksgiving is Mr. Cranberry sauce.

It's to generate sympathy for turkeys. The turkeys actually started it to gain sympathy from vegetarians. It all has to do with the great turkey conspiracy to take over the world. I'm surprised you haven't been keeping up with this.

Idk. We don´t have Thanksgiving in my country and the turkey industry is not actually an industry so you might have a point there :)
