A somber wind blows through my door
Reminding me of all my flaws
A subtle down pour drowns my soul
And quenches my thirst for pain
The lack of self holds me back
I've often wondered what I could have been
But all illusions tend to fade
And here I sit in a pile of waste
Have I let life pass me by
Have I even gave a damn
A sobering thought that I have failed
While drinking in the here and now
What of tomorrow
What of my wife
Can I subdue the madness inside and live a normal life
Or is this just a dream
Have I already lost it inside a padded room
A somber wind blows through my door
And the white coats have come to take me away

I see a lonely man, drunk with guilt. His angry and feels pity toward himself, he feels trapped without a chance. That's what I got out of it, I don't know what the others read?

Well, at first, I can see my front door standing open, with the house empty. Windy. Kind of spooky. I like that part.
When you start recording abstracts like "thirst for pain," and "lack of self," the picture disappears.
