I have a dell lap top and the screen seems to be messed up, and I would like to make sure that it is the screen and not something else. Is it possible to plug my friend's dell monitor from her pc into my laptop to make sure it's the screen that's broken?

Yes, if your laptop has a VGA port. It's all explained in your Dell User Manual.

NO VGA port, nope.

I must agree with everyone else as long as you have a VGA port you can plug in any monitor similarly most if not all laptops have the same features most desktops do just a wee bit different.in other words you can use a Headset and or most speaker systems if the laptop does not already have them built in,making a long story shot Yes you should be able to.

It should be possible, you may have to use one of the Fn key combinations to switch to the external monitor but that should be in the Manual (I'm not sure what it is with Dell, every laptop maker has their own way of doing things).

As long as the laptop has a VGA-out port (and most laptops do), then you can easily connect an external monitor to your laptop.
