I just got contacts today and I can easily put them in my eye and take them out. But the optometrist told me to make sure I don't put them on backwards and the way to know that they're not backwards is to put them on your fingertips and the contact will form a perfect bowl shape, and that's what I did but then I turned it around and it still made a perfect bowl shape so how can I be 100% sure that I'm not putting them on backwards?

Yeah, they hurt if they're inside out - but what your Dr. meant was if you put them on your fingertip, and they're inside out, there is a difference. It my take a while to really see it, but when they're inside out they wont make a "perfect" bowl, they will look as if they are trying to bend down a little bit around the edges - kind of like a small cereal bowl.

well first of all, do you have hard or soft contact lenses?
i myself have soft, so to answer your question when it's backwards on your finger it is not a perfect bowl shape.
instead the top rim curves outward instead of a normal bowl...shape.
lol, well that's about the best advice i can give you [=

okay, well what i do is when i put the solution on one side and it won't, like, slide easily i know it's on the wrong side. because if you place in the bowl shape it should be able to slide around a little.
i know it might not make sense to you, but i do this every single morning. hehe

carefully look at the edges. when it's upside down, to won't make a perfect bowl shape.
*if the edge comes out slightly. it's on the wrong side.
*plus, when you put them in. it will feel very weird. you will know it's backwards. trust me.

the right side is when it's like a rounded bowl, and the wrong side is when it's like a triangular bowl. if you put them on the wrong side you will feel it, it will bug you.
