There are two problems here if Bush said for Chavez to shut up.
One people would turn their focus on Bush and that he shouldn't have said it. (seems like it doesn't matter what Bush does its wrong)
Second it would be coming from the USA, a country people seem to love to hate and would just add fuel to this propaganda against the US. The big bad US telling a lowly president to shut up, where the respect for the small guy by the big guy.
As much as I'd love it, the media would be writing article after article about how bad the US is towards others no matter how just or right the situation was.

As of up to 2 years ago I visited Caracas frequently in business matters, trust me, what you see on the TV is not what most local people from Caracas can tell you. Yes the gas is at about .19cents per gallon, but other than that people find it very hard to meet their responsability. The sentiment is that as the goverment started to over take most of the infracstructure of business and making it part of the goverment, so has its economy been debilitated. And, such acts do not represent a positive outcome to the people of Venezuela. Just because he is loud and disrespectfull to other leaders, no matter what country or ideology it does not translate to a betterment of his people. I live in the US and although I do not like my president, I know for a fact that in about 1 year there is a great chance that he will no longer be seating in the white house. Can the people of Venezuela say the same, when Mr. Chavez is adopting the country's constitution to his will. It was about time that someone told him that enough is enough and shut up. Not entirely sure that its the way that it should had been done. But it was surelly effective. And please lets not forget that the only reason he currently has "apperant backing from other leaders" is because he sell them oil at a discount to buy their support.

If bush did tell him to stfu then I bet all kinds of liberal asses will claim that he is just trying to start more war in attempt to gain oil and all kinds of bs will follow
so that's why he doesn't do it because he's just sick of all the idiots that are running around in america trying to pin everything wrong with the world on him

Ever wonder what is the mystery of "The King and I"
Ever wonder who is the King with the regal crown and landmark out there?
Then who is the "I" ?
The man who crown himself as the man who would be king.
With crown of thorns and two empty hands.
In climbing up the coconut trees and still look green.
Without being aware with " You raised me up"
Luke 10.24
What do you think?

I'm glad to note that you saw "he indeed shutted up". It was a sign of his inferiority. All he could do was mumble disgruntledly and look away. He could not meet Juan-Carlos's look!!
