The hatchbacks are really nice in their own little ways,but when you turn pages in car magazines of the past 3 yrs as well as the recent ones you will notice that in all of the hatchback competitions or test drives the overall winner is Santro xing.

Though the santro seems to be an older looking car,I would still choose it over the estillo&the spark,here's why:
1.A good engine(64 bhp,erlx).
2.slam the accelerator(no need to floor) and you can feel the torque(less gear changes,transmission lasts for long time)
3.the gear is a short throw one,less effort in shifting the gears.U don't have to drag the lever to change the cog just a push is more than enough.(not the case in the other 2,especially in the spark).
4.a rigid suspension setup that allows you to corner and brake faster without jeopardising ur life.
5.mileage is good(10-12 kms/ltr in city,16+ kms/ltr on highways),the other 2 also give a mileage of similar range.
7.The servicing network is good,they offer things like free monsoon checkups and things like that,where they also replace ur wiper blades,rotate the tire positions without labour costs.
8.The car is a trouble free vehicle,best for city driving.(3 yrs running no problems yet).
9.Its got a high bonnet line so u don't have to guess for the front end of the car.Also u can have a greater road presence than other mentioned hatches.
10.Just choose the color a bit carefully.

The Zen Estillo&spark quite a car too :
1.Its got a really cute look,infact often described as the perfect girl's car.(Both of the cars)
2.The interiors are classy.(Estillo)
3.The handling is where the santro scores higher,make some sharp turns and u will find that the estillo's tires squeel.
4.The spark's more stable in straight line braking.
5.In Indian traffic the estimation and idea of the size of the car is an important thing,all I wanna say is that you can't make out clearly where the bonnet of this car ends(for both the spark&estillo),for the santro u can do that.
6.The engines are quite peppy,but the santro's much faster and powerful and torqier(torque is the pulling power of the car,more torque more acceleration).
7.The gear box is not a short throw,requires time to shift,kills the acceleration.Requires more time,strength and force to make the gear shift.

All 3 are good cars,test drive both on roads where u might drive every day,coz in traffic u can reveal the true colors of a car.Choose the one that feels right for you.But if u ask me the santro's still a better choice than the estillo as its got a prooven engine that's got a long life....

The Spark actually has Matiz engine which is 1000 cc. Plus points for the spark are its interior space (which is more than Estilo's but equal to Santro) and smooth pick up. Zen Estilo has basically the same engine as that of WagonR 1060 cc. is taller than the old Zen. In the higher version it has anti Locking Brakes and dual Airbags. As you probably know the Zen Estilo sales did not match the expectations it had created and I hear that Maruti is thinking of phasing it out. Basic price of Estilo (R. 3.26 lakhs) is slightly lower than Spark Rs. 3.5 lakhs). The Santro Xing eRLX has a new engine 1100 cc. which is very smooth, quiet, starts easily and never seizes. The pickup is very fast and the power and torque are adequate for most city driving conditions (sudden stops and fast pickup). The A/C is also superb and the suspension is improved. One problem is that rear view mirror vibrates while driving on bad roads. Santro price is comparable with Estilo with basic at Rs. 3.27 lakhs.

Well, you have had all kind of answers to this questions and all are great. I have a lot to tell about these three cars but frankly do not have the time to do so.If you really want to buy one of these cars, please take a look at the santro vs spark comparison I did for New indian Express review. Why the Estilo was left out is that it was inferior to the other two in terms of quality and build and felt cheaper in the way it is meant to be.

Santro is on the roads for some time now: popular in the small car segment, fairly stable, recommended for service network available readily everywhere! Spark and Estilo, competitive, promising from all accounts, but not yet proven from wide use and reports from users: about six months from now, we can make valid assessments!

i10 is more spacious. I suggest u go for the i10. but the new estilo is really very gud wit its gem of an engine and also wit its new styling and also affordable price. if u want max space at minimal price go for the i10 but estilo doesn't do bad either....go for the new estilo if u're heart suggests. wagonr is becoming old and is not stable at higways(narrow tyres) santro is dull looking(but a gud city car)

you should get this information for yourself. Personally I think instead of the top versions in these models, at a similar budget, you could instead look at the Swift and the U-VA both of which I think are far better vehicles
