Kinda confusing. Sounds like you might have some great points in your essay but you need to bring it down to earth a bit. Like, make you're points apply to everyday situations, people, beliefs, etc.

The symbolism part just means he wants you to take a deeper look at your essay. Read between the lines and try to find any hidden meanings if you can.

Hope this helps. I know it sounds confusing. It would be easier to explain if I knew the topic of your essay. If you need any help, feel free to email me.

I would guess she may mean what was the realistic level of what you wrote compared to any symbolic things in it. The ratio? Like 50/50 or whatever precentage you believe was most realistic and what parts would be symbolic of the reality. Don't know what u wrote, but think u need to examine it for quality of being realistic, and qualities of symbolic meaning in it.. Good Luck

Well I'm not sure what was in your essay, but I'm guessing that those are things that she wanted you to include. In other words, include a bit of reality and what certain things meant. Like if it was on a book, you would want to include the importance of an item, such as the hankerchief in Othello. Hope this helps!

Your teacher can help you.
I recommend, seriously, taking your paper to the teacher and asking her what the comments mean.

As a former English teacher, all I can say is that the comments refer to what the assignment was versus what you wrote about.

I am sure your teacher would gladly explain the comments to you, if you asked her nicely.

my advice to u is that if u don't understand the corrections that she has made u should go and ask her because she knows what she is looking for in your essay
