my printer isnt scanning things right. its only scanning parts of the document. i hav a canon brand printer. i need help! im gonna pull my hair out!!

Hmm, I've never used a Cannon scanner, but perhaps the scanning software allows you to define a region (a draggable box or sorts) that you want to be scanned. If you're really stuck, visit Cannon's website and go to their Support area. They may have an instruction manual for your Scanning software online.

If the scanned object is large try using a "Document"
scan rather than a "Photo" scan.
This might cure your problem if a top, bottom, or side
is missing.

Your computer isn't stupid. The CanoScan Toolbox software is doing EXACTLY what you told it to do.

Read the Scanner User Manual from cover to cover, then uncheck the first Checkbox you see when CanoScan opens, after you choose what you want to do.
