I have been asking my husband to move out of the house for several months now, as he is not addressig any of the issues in our marriage. But he blankly refuses, saying he has nowhere to go and he "doesn't want to put his family out by staying with them as the don't have the room". He has asked that I let him stay for 3 months to save to move out!!! I am not cool with this at all, as I know his plan is to live here, save all his money, and let me pay for all the expenses! I doubt he could save any money anyway - he can't keep 5c in his pocket for more than a minute. What does everyone think? Is this the done thing or should he just move out? I also think he doesn't plan to move out fullstop - the 3 month thing is just to buy time to get back in my good books. Also, how do I get him out of the house if he refuses to go??? Advice please!!!

We are renting the house and the lease is in my name so I need to keep the house. He even refuses to take over the lease so I can move out.

Exactly, how do you get him out? If he's not willing to go and you know the marriage is over, You'll have be the one to leave.
Go get some boxes and start packing, he may step up and leave, but he doesn't sound like a guy who would do that.
Changing the locks only lasts as long as he is willing to stay on the other side of the door. If he's violent to you or the children you can call the police, they know how to get people out of their houses.Legal aid lawyers are helpful .Praying is very wise ,as often as you think of your husband, send a prayer to our creator, He See's the big picture and knows what's best. Good luck my dear.

yep when he goes to work one day have his things setting on the porch for him and door locks changed and a restraining order in place then he has to do it.. no if ands or buts about it.. he will have to go somewhere and it wont be there. that what i would do.. and start the divorce asap. the quicker the better.. he will lay around whining if you dont make the move to do it.. so if your serious about it thats what i would do.. good luck

how bad ya want him out. Enough to rent him a small studio? short of talking to an attorney, i am not sure how else. If you offer to rent him a small studio, 1st months rent only..Then he has no excuse, he's out, change the locks, file for legal seperation.

See both a therapist and an attorney this week! You need help to not be a doormat and to protect your financial interests, Several months is already too long if you meant it.

Discuss with an attorney - he might be able to serve him with papers to pack a suitcase and leave.

He can rent a room somewhere.

Joy to you...

if i were you and he wouldn't leave then get the law in or just pack your stuff and leave.

go talk to the land lord and tell him/her the situation and they can maybe do something or maybe let you out of the lease.
