Package deal with Virgin - http://www.blueholidays.com.au/web/content/bh/local/specials/domestic/goldcoast.html

Otherwise if you stay in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast and book your theme parks through your accommodation you can also book transfers - hassle free, with a them picking you up from your doorstep and driving you back.

Check out the theme parks website - http://myfun.com.au/

Airlines - try Jetstar.com.au or virgin.com.au

For package deals, accommodation, travel and theme park tickets you are better off just googling 'gold coast package deals' There is ALOT to choose from

If you are in an Automobile Club or Union, they might offer some discounts on both accommodation and park admittance.

Brisbane airport is actually closer to the theme parks than Coolangatta. From the central Gold Coast (depending on the time of day) it takes about the same amount of time to either airport. By car, the theme parks are about 20 min out of the Gold Coast and 40 min from Brisbane. There is very little accommodation (actually there's very little anything) around the parks. There are regular buses to the parks from the Gold Coast.

You give no information on the level of accommodation you are looking for, so it's difficult to answer. Try any of the 'wotif' or 'last minute' accommodation websites.

There's some good suggestions and sites here.

I'm not sure what you have in mind with regards to accommodation, but as you may know your options for 5 persons would probably be best in a serviced apartment.

There are the best sites that i know of in the area :

Cheaper than Hotels - Gold Coast - http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Australia/Gold-Coast/

Official Tourism Site
http://www.verygc.com/

Airfares - http://www.qantas.com

And make sure you have an air conditioned car rental or maybe an SUV !!
