His drive should be higher than 2 or 3 times a month at 35. Something is up, investigate further..

Okay, hon, I'm a woman in my 50's and I will tell you that this is NOT normal behavior for a guy his age. How long has he been this way? It's important to identify if this is a recent development or if it has always been this way.
If he used to be more interested, ask him to please have a physical. There may be a medical explanation. He could also have some depression going on (mid-30's confusion....it's normal for most guys).
That's my recommendation for a first step. If he won't go to the doctor, you have to decide if you're willing to accept your sex life "as is", or move on (so you'll have to figure out if you are seeking marriage, children, etc.)
Peace.

He had his sexual peak in his late teens and early twenties, and you are just getting to yours (usually 35-45). What you are experiencing is very normal. Just buy yourself a Water Pik shower massager, and take care of the urges when necessary. They work wonders!!

look into some medications like goat weed or anything that might lift his libido. its good that neither of you are cheating and looking for a good solution. More people should have such values rather than looking for a bit on the side

I think you should talk to him about it. I am 41 and am positive have still not hit my peak. Its interesting, 'cause most of my male friends have the opposite problem (they are more int. than their wives).

let's see, you are hitting your sexual peak, and he is far, far away from the good ole days of his sexual peak. that's the first problem.
if he's not "up" to perform, think of other creative ways of getting yourself "off" with his help. toys, oral, fingers, etc.
better yet talk to him about it and reach a compromise.

Compromise. He needs to give you more and you need to expect less. Those other days do it yourself.
