From encarta.com: "in general, among married couples, the frequency of sexual intercourse tends to decline the longer the two people are together."
From General Social Survey (GSS) - "If you're having sex about once a week, you're right in there with most of us. The GSS indicates that most US adults are having sex about once a week—58 episodes per year to be exact. In Smith's own analysis, titled "American Sexual Behavior," it appears that this number has been fairly consistent since 1988. And we aren't wasting much time either—the average encounter lasts about 30 minutes."
"Women especially seem to be less sexual active with age."
"While 7% of married couples haven't had sex within the last year, about 16% haven't in the last month."
"Even among couples who rate their marriages as very happy, frequency of intercourse declines with age."
Yet from numerous research articles:
"those who indicated a higher frequency of sexual activity tended to have higher levels of sexual satisfaction. Blumstein and Schwartz (1983) found that degree of sexual satisfaction was directly correlated with the frequency of sex. Other researchers (Bentler & Peeler, 1979; Hurlbert et al., 1993; Zhou, 1993) have also found that higher levels of sexual activity were related to increased sexual satisfaction."
And women wonder why we mutter and drink beer and mutter some more.

Sex will change between two people regardless of mariage if you stay with the same partner for very long. It becomes mostly routine rather than new and exciting after a while. Not to say that it won't occasionally be great, but most of the time you take it for granted and there is not real thrill of conquest.

Mine did ... and I was YOUNG!! ... with NO kids
My husband and I have been together now goin on 3 years and our first year of marriage sex wise SUCKED!!
we did it all the time before we got married but about 2 months after we were married it went from 1-3 times a day to maybe if I was lucky 2 times a month. but we were young (18 & 20) and now that we have grown and worked on our marriage and are happily married its back to about 3-5 times a week.
For use it did change at first, then we grew to love one another and it only got better....

Yup, sure does... lots until the kids come, then sleep takes precedence over sex . By the time the kids are old enought to know better, you`re too tired from raising them.

what sex life?
You mean there's supposed to be sex AFTER marriage?
lol, I don't remember the last we had, and somehow, I'm not that concerned about it either. The more I think about it, the more this question kinda makes me sad!
Really, I think it depends on the couple.

My sex life didn't change, because I had no sex life before marriage. I waited until I was married to have sex.

Not for most people. It does for the people that are only trying to snag a spouse.

Yes, my ex started to c*m quicker. The jerk now if he had started that nonsense before we tied the knot I never would have married him.
