He and Eva took poison. They had a guard shoot their dog, drag them and the dog outside, shoot both of them to be sure they were dead, them dumped gasoline on them and burn them. The Russians Never disclosed what they did with the remains and no good I.D. was ever made. They might well have escaped to Brazil then Paraguay like so man other friends of Prescott Bush. There is no proof that Hitler died in 1945. The Nazis resisted for a few more days, presumably shipping people and gold out of Germany, and then the war in Europe came to an end. Nazi gold still has a great influence on world economics and is the backbone of the Swiss banking system.

The hones answer is we don't know. Hitlers body was never found. So the only thing we have to go on is the testamony from the Nuremburg trials and the interogations of the people who were in the Furher's Bunker with him at the end. If I remember the reports Ava Braun used poison and Hitler shot himself. The body was supposedly taken out and burned. Some believe the Russians recovered the body but if they did they never admitted it.

On 30 April 1945, after intense street-to-street combat, when Soviet troops were spotted within a block or two of the Reich Chancellory, Hitler committed suicide, shooting himself while simultaneously biting into a cyanide capsule. Hitler's body and that of Eva Braun (his mistress whom he had married the day before) were put in a bomb crater, doused in gasoline by Otto Günsche and other Führerbunker aides, and set alight as the Red Army advanced and shelling continued. Hitler also had his dog Blondi poisoned before his suicide to test the poison he and Eva Braun were going to take.

like a coward. He was afraid the russians were going to capture him alive or if found dead, desicrate his body. Allegedly he took a suicide capsule, however that may be inaccurate as he had been consuming small quantities of poisonous substances for years in an attempt to develop some level of resistance to them. He reportedly did shoot himself and had his body burned.

From eyewitness accounts, according to the history channel, the nazi soldiers heard gunfire which would mean that he shot himself as well as his mistress (not his wife guys and girls) as far as pills, not very likely. Why do both? In case a bullet to the head doesn't work for some reason? Doubtful.

it is really hard to say.though the russians found hitler's burned body in 1945 stalin wasn't sure that was his actually him.but hitler's closest aids said hitler wanted his body burned so that his greatest enemy, stalin, couldn't display his body as a sign that russia beat germany,or better yet to say that stalin beat him.you also have some people who say hitler got away lived on,which is false of course because many of hitlers aids say that he and his wife both took cyanide capsules, and that on top of that hitler shot himself to make sure he didn't survive.so the answer to your question is that hitler committed suicide.
