The doctor suggested i start taking this stool softener....i took only one tonight...should i have taken more or is that enough and when does it kick in?

well the nurse told me i can take up to three...i just want to check in with others here to see what how much they take and how well that works thanks in advance

colace isn't a laxative it's a stool softner. My doctor said it was ok to take but one shouldn't make a habit out it. Always ask your doctor first before using anything.

It takes a few days or more to kick in, at least for me. Really depends on the person though. You might ask your doctor if you could take 2.

I didn't think you could take a laxative while pregnant, but if your doctor is telling you to, make sure your getting the brand he suggests and the dosage he suggests. One should be enough. I wouldn't take anymore than that without asking a doctor.

I would suggest you contact your Doctor . He would be able to tell you how much,or if possible if you could take something else that would be more helpful.

Just drink some Juicey Juice, that always helped me.
