How do I deal with a pregnant roommate?

I am a freshman in college and I have been living on campus with a roommate for 4 months. For the most part, I get along with her. She recently told me that she is PREGNANT! How am I going to deal with that? I know I won't be able to handle that. She is already starting to have mood swings and insists that I should do more chores around the dorm when she is the one who is completely messy! My parents are spending way too much money for my education and I am way to focused on school to have to put up with this situation. Am I being insensitive? Should I talk to my RA about possibly moving out? I'm sorry but I do not think I should be the one considering housing arrangements. I did not ask to have a pregnant roommate.

No! I was in the EXACT same situation. You don't owe her ANYTHING! My roomie go sooooooo bossy with me, and all I wanted to do was concentrate on school!!! Get out now before it gets worse! Trust me, I have been there done that.......it WILL get worse. Talk to your RA.......she will understand. Where is the daddy? They should move in together. They are the ones that got themselves into the situation.

you should consult from the college and clarify the region and tell them that 3 human beings in a one mattress room putting isnt working and additionally should be against hearth code. maximum states hearth code for apartments is two heart beats according to mattress room so if there is one mattress room and 3 heart beats (PG#a million, PG#2, and you) then one desires to be relocated and you volunteer. they're breaking a regulation someplace by utilising having 3 in a single apt like that. And tell the preggies that they could help it. they could be quieter and that they could take a snack to the mattress room with them so as that they dont wake you up. Move out. I wasn't crazy when I was prego, but I am an exception. My sister tried strangling me. lol. Everything has to change when there's a prego woman around. No need for you to put up with all that until you're pregnant yourself. She'll probably start eating your food, too. hahaha

Be a little sensetive and understanding! Pregnancy does crazy things to woman, its called hormones. She can't help it. It isn't her fault that she is like this. What are you going to be like when you are pregnant? All you are doing is whining and justifying it by saying your parents are paying all this money for your education, therefore your room mate should have to leave. You should be the one who should leave...YES you are being far too insensetive about this situation. Have a heart and maybe put a little energy into other things then your studies. It sounds like you are way too uptight. Lighten up, go out for a night for a change.

Be a good friend,for her and her baby,and keep alot of food on hand,keep her relaxed and happy,and get some of her other friends to help,and the dude who got her pregnant!

talk to your roommate tell her how you feel and also there are certain things she will not be able to do that will involve your help.

If it's about you - move. But think about what she's going through and if you want to abandon her at this time then go ahead.
