im 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. shouldnt i have started losing the mucus plug by now?

i havent noticed any discharge at all. thats why i just assumed i havent lost it yet. i'll ask my doctor next time

Did your doctor say you still had your mucus plug? It is completely possible that you have lost your mucus plug and you never even noticed. Sometimes, it does not come out all at once, it comes out as heavy discharge or in small pieces. Or maybe during one of your many midnight bathroom runs, you just did not notice.

I never knew whether or not I lost my mucus plug. My doc told me you often lose it without ever knowing, but that it didn't matter anyway because losing the mucus plus is one of the most overrated events in pregnancy. Most people believe when you lose it you'll be in labor within 72 hours, but she told me that's not a guarantee (kinda disappointing, but I trust her).

im 80%effaced and 1cm dialated, MOST gals don't even see the plug, as stated prev., your doc would say if you ask.
