general crowding

overwork - i know several industries where they kept cutting the workforce - now it is common for 1 person to be doing the job of 3 to 6 in 1985. Computers help, but not that much - at least in these jobs.

it is as if the companies have stretched their people PAST the limit just on the daily work - so when there is a crisis, things are totally out of control and the people feel helpless. and badly used by their company.

Some kind of malcontentment with the workplace, the boss, working conditions, fellow employees , paranoia, and plain nut cases. Apparently, todays working generation is not as disciplined as were their parents and something cracks when they don't get their way. This can lead to violence. Also media headlines on violent events sets off copy cats who figure " Why don't I ------". What is your theory?

Perhaps poor laws and poor enforcement of laws rather than poor economy contribute to violence against women. When the law is either absent, or unclear, or unfair. Then people are more likely to take the law into their own hands and resolve their disagreements through violence rather than through the courts.
