The president has decided that Bin Laden is "impotent" and no longer a factor in the war on terror.
This is our commander in chief. The leader of the free-world, the absolute worst president in history. I hope he chokes on his hubris.

Let me paint you a picture of my life in 2003. I was 19 years old in Afghanistan for OEF 3. I carried an M-249 with at least 600 rounds often 800. Not to mention water, food, a spare uniform, thermol, CLS bag, 6 pairs of socks, a morter round etc on back. Not to count the interceptor body armor I wore. Carrying all that weight up and down the mountains of Afghanistan is no small task. We are trying to find him, the fact is that the terrain over there is perfect for hiding in, a lot of the people look alike, we limited personal over there. It is a lot like trying to find a needle in a haystack it can be done but it takes a long time, and then needs a little luck.

I don't understand why Saudi Arabia would want to protect him. They refused Bin Laden's help in the Kuwait conflict. They put him under house arrest and he escaped. Bin Laden hates the Saudi government. That's what started his planning of 9/11, that Saudi Arabia allowed American troops on their soil for the Kuwait conflict.
The reason he hasn't been found is because it's difficult. He's worshiped by a lot of the backward freaks in the Middle East and they'll protect him. There are many remote isolated areas in the Middle East. It would have been much easier to get him all those years before 9/11 when we knew he was a threat and he wasn't hiding.

Bin Laden isn't an ordinary person. He doesn't have a fixed address, a phone, a credit card or a checking acc't. He's even more insulated from detection than any number of people currently in our own Wittness Protection Program. What he does have is a network of loyal followers who evidently can't be swayed by the $25 million dollar reward offered....dead or alive! Also, there may well be persons with influence in our own governmet or others that may have some sort of back channel means of communicating with him or those close to him. We don't know or have any way of knowing, but you can't discount the possiblity. There's also the factor that the Bush administration isn't particularly noted for its competence...quite the contrary. This is the most maladroit bunch of clowns in the history of western civilization. As my friend, Dave, said..."They couldn't find their own butt if they had a mirror on a stick." Of course there is a factor that does stick out...capturing Bin Laden would negate our entire reason for continuing the Afghan Campaign....and the question of oil pipelines and other oil related considerations has a lot of validity as a major part of our reason for being there and also in Iraq. Who's really at fault here? It could be a lot of people, or it could be dumb luck on Bin Ladens' part....though I'm most romantic about the Bush Junta being simply incompetent and afflicted with the Ex-Lax touch...but hey...I'm biased!

In my opinion the truth is impossible to discern. Bin Laden is more valuable to the West and less valuable to Islamist Extremists.
A 'Bogey man' is only good if he is not caught. At the same time a dead Bin Laden would be a martyr. For the US agenda he is definitely more useful alive and free.

we dont want to capture him. If we capture him and imprison him he becomes a rallying point for all of the anti american terrorist groups in the world. We kill him and the world media finds out, again we have a martyr for the dissidents of the world to idolize. We let him die of natural causes in some hole where he is hiding, or better yet, terminate him and leave him in an anomous and unmarked grave, he will fade to obscurity and become inconsequential. Many people believe that he may already be dead and the statements attributed to him in recent months may have been recorded years ago. Either way, give it ten years and Ossamma Bin Hidin' will become Ossamma Who? Just another anonomous dirtbag in the annals of history.

They do deserve justice; however, I think that the chances of finding Bin Laden alive are slim to none.....there are so many caves and holes to hide in over there and he could be anywhere, plus he has a whole entourage of people following him; the persons who followed through with the plans to attack on 9/11 were just the start of it all...if those people were willing to do that...WHO ALL DO YOU THINK FOLLOW HIM AROUND AND PROTECT HIM??????
That is my feeling on it...that is why we have not caught him yet.......

Because he's dead plus he worked for the CIA anyways fighting the soviets in the late 70's.. He was involved in the CIA's opium smuggling business and also there is no other people that have more ties to the Bin Ladens than the Bush's.
Sorry bud the war on terror is a scam. You've been had!

I agree. Now our own citizens even want to brush that problem on to Clinton. HELLO. 9/11 happened after Bush was sworn in.
One of the many impeachable acts of George Bush.

Because he died in a cave like a bat a long time ago. The man was receiving dialysis when all this started.
If we had caught him, we would have had to treat him and that was too good for him.
Better to let him die an agonizing death without all the hoopla and let his followers wonder if he was still alive but not caring enough to continue openly rallying them.
