Yes it is very true. They are making room for some new models that will probably floop too, then they will announce how they are catching up to the Japanese and some other models will come out. Then the model to "save" Chrysler will come out but that too will flop. Then they'll just bring out an old K car with a slant six and it will be titled the greatest automobile of all time.

Yes they are. The Crossfire never caught on and they basically have had to bribe dealers to take them for the last 3 years. There were several thousand of them sitting at the port facility for over a year or so. It was just to high a price to pay for not that much car. Yes it basically was the previous version of a Mercedes CLK and Daimler thought that was good enough to sell it. It never lived up to expectations.

PT Cruiser convertible will not be missed either. Just a bad excecution of a bad idea. Should have made a panel van version or a two door version of PT Cruiser instead of a convertible. I suspect the total number of convertibles made was a very small portion of the overall PT production so you are not talking about cutting that many units.

Magnum has never sold well ever since it came out. Yes it has an available Hemi but Americans don't particularly care for a station wagon these days. I drove one for 6 months and liked it but unfortunately the buying public never really cared for it. I was calling for Magnum production to end the year after it came out so I'm not surprised it's getting the axe.

Pacifica is really a nice vehicle. Great on the highway. It just got launched totally wrong. Chrysler made nothing but fully loaded all wheel drive units for about the first 6 months of production. They were over $40,000 MSRP and really turned off people to the vehicle. Once production was mixed better and the less expensive front wheel drive models came out, sales picked up. With the Dodge Journey coming out, Chrysler will probably get a version of that so Pacifica could easily be sacrificed.

The magnum is actually selling pretty well. The rest of them, yes, they have to go someplace. Car sales really slide when you don't make them "new", so they have to at least be changed.

The crossfire is definitely dead, for many reasons. There's no hope for that one. The rest of them could get restyled and live. The PT has never been updated, and they've made it forever, so I think it's going to be interesting how they follow it up. There are a lot of little convertibles on the market, so it's in a pretty competitive slot. I wouldn't be surprised if they just canceled the convertible.

Yes I did. I saw it on CNN the other day. Too bad, because I sure liked the Pacifica.

Hey they promised more power under the hood of that crossfire and didn't live up to it when it came under production...it came with less horses under the hood...disappointing...good riddance

I guess its good news if you are a Cerbeus stock holder but not so good if you actually work for Chrysler.
