My history class is very boring. All we do is write vocab, do worksheets, and read the chapters in the book outloud. Then when we have tests we have to write longggg essays and he is very specific on it. Then in my math class we have homework almost every single night. All we do in class is go over the bellring, review the previous nights homework, and sometimes do some notes. She hardly ever teaches us anything. We had 43 grades (mainly hw) last 9 weeks. Then in my science class we do the same thing literally every single day. Copy down notes from the board, write vocab, answer questions from the book, and do worksheets. The only time we do anything different is on test days. Then my english class is BORING. All the teacher does it talk about pointless stuff. She gets off topic and its so annoying. I hate my classes.

School would be more fun if the teacher could have strobe lights going, play Tupac and watch Scarface.

Unfortunately, your state's curriculum doesn't allow this. The problem is that students today expect to be ENTERTAINED at all times. They want fun, fun, fun all of the time. Life isn't about fun all of the time. Students do not know how to think for themselves. Students think they can just show up, have their own personal social time by chatting with friends, and earn an "A". If they are like this in my class, I assure you that they don't pass.

Yes I think this is horrible....are you in college?

Most college professors are specialists in their area and have no clue how to teach, this is why they lecture. But someone with a degree in education knows better. It sounds like (if you are not in college) that your school as a major lack of moral some pretty unmotivated, possibly down right bad, teachers.

Yes. It sounds like my daughter's H.S. too. (or mine in the 1960's does nothing ever change!?)
This really disappoints me because I know how much effort I put into teaching and all the presure on teachers do teach, yet they get away with it.
Try to study hard despite them. Hurry up and get your diploma even if it means summer school- get out and make something of yourself anyway!!!
Good luck!

The history teacher is trying to survive.
Sure, it would be great if there were a lot of interaction, but that would require a LOT of energy that the teacher would rather conserve for himself for after work.

Get used to it. Bad classes are simply a part of high school...and you certainly can't rely on your future college professors to make things new and interesting for you. College is all about taking notes and learning things on your own.

Umm, are you kidding me? That's what school is! That isn't horrible at all. I think you need to suck it up and deal with it.
