Why is it called "Blackbody" radiation? Are scientists bigots?

In physics, a "blackbody" is an object that aborbs all light (or other electromagnetic radiation). In other words, it is pure black.

A blackbody will also radiate electromagnetic radiation (usually infared) based on its temperature. It is this radiation which is called "blackbody radiation."
