I did it on my bike...I was replacing the whole exhaust at the time (previous owner let it rust out) and I wrapped my header pipes all the way down to the collector.

For one thing, it'll keep you from burning your legs on it quite as badly. It does look good if you do it right. There may or may not be some performance gains...but they were less important to me than making sure I don't burn myself every time I back up against the bike without boots on.

It's a lot easier to do with the pipes off the bike, with the wrap wet. The wrap stretches a little more and conforms to the pipe better, and you don't get fiberglass all over you. Do it in your bathtub.

Everytime it rains, the pipes "smoke", it'll look like you've got a huge exhaust leak at first...it's just the water evaporating out of the wrap when you first heat the pipes up. It looks bada*s.

It fits the whole rat-bike persona (cause it sorta looks cobbled together), and you should totally do it! I got 50' of the 2-inch wrap and it more than took care of my 2-into-1.

ya u definitely want to get the wrap wet before applying it to the pipe, make sure your overlap is even as u move down the pipe other wise u will end up with loose spots. i wrapped an exhaust for a chop i built awhile back for the purpose of covering the uncoated pipes. its a great alternative if u don't have the bones to get the exhaust chromed

They say you gain power by reducing radiated exhaust heat. It sounds like a crock to me, I don't think it actually does anything. It is easy to put on, they have ties that you put on the ends. As for the tape, you just keep it tight and wrap it. I really like the look of it on the bobber style bikes.

I have used some on kart motors and a legend race car with fj1200.Did not notice any change, not saying there isn't.Looks bad when it gets heated up and starts falling apart after a while. To get the same effect get ceramic coated headers.

HEAT,1- IT'LL KEEP YOU FROM BURNING YOURSELF. 2-KEEPING THE PIPE HOT INTERNALLY WILL ALLOW THE PIPE TO SCAVENGE EXHAUST BETTER.
