A drop kicked field goal the only recorded record was: 45 yards by Wilbur "Pete" Henry

Later on the ball was made more pointed so drop kicks were nearly eliminated for field goals. This improved the passing game.

The longest recorded kick with a 2" tee was 72 yards

Two people share the NFL record of 63 yards ... Tom Dempsey of the Saints and Jason Elam of the Broncos. I think there have been longer kicks in college football, but I don't follow college ball. The distance is determined from the spot of the kick, which is usually 7 yards back from the line of scrimmage, plus the ball has to travel through the 10-yard end zone. So a kick from the 40 is really a 57-yard field goal.
