I never had a Berber skink but I've had two legless lizards and they're cool. Not all kinds are easy to take care of (some have very specialized diets and only eat other lizards so avoid these). If you can get a Russian/European/sheltopusik they are great. Mine eats mostly insects and sometimes pinky mice and rats and do well at normal temperatures. I keep a small undertank heating pad so there is a little bit of a range in his tank. These live for a long time, I think I remember reading they average around 50 years, so be sure you really want one of these before you get one.
