He trusted God completely, even when God told him something that did not make sense at the time. Moses had complete faith in God and followed His leadings. Some people might be afraid to step out into the Red Sea and ask it to part, but Moses had enough faith to be bold and do what God asked of him. Without Moses's radical, bold type of faith, he would not have been the right leader for that moment in history.

Moses also had endurance. He had to talk to the Pharaoh so many times before the people were freed, but he never gave up. And they had to wander the desert for 40 years to find the promised land, but Moses never gave up during his lifetime - he just kept following God and leading the people. That type of endurance takes a lot of personal strength, and again, it also takes a lot of faith.

Hope that helps!

It was the beard, and the fact that everyone kept saying 'holy Moses', which made him seem like a big wheel.

...just kidding. What made him a good leader was that he got his people to walk out of Egypt to escape injustice. Would you follow someone away from where you've lived your whole life unless you really had some kind of faith in their abilities?

Moses was a great leader because he totally trusted God. He trusted God enough to stand up to the pharoah and plead for freedom for God's people. He was kind and just. He led the Israelites to the promised land. He basically gave himself to God!

His abilities as a leader are questionable. Why did it take them 40 years to walk from Egypt to Palestine. This journey can be easily done on foot in two months without hurrying.
