check out the guitar solo in "while my guitar gently weeps" by the beatles, (eric clapton played that solo), also look into "Achilles last stand" by Led Zeppelin, or the solo on Stairway to Heaven is always a classic. "For the Love of God" by Steve Vai is pretty amazing. I could go on and on.....
