Is your last name Spanish as well? I love to keep my childrens' names in concert with our last name, which is Spanish. So I chose a name for our son which was Spanish as well. So if your daughter were to be named Magaly Mendez, I think that's completely appropriate.

I'm familiar with Magali (a French form of Margaret), but I wasn't aware there was a similar Spanish version. Margarita is the only I knew of. Is Magaly said differently? Just curious.
I do like Magali, for what it's worth, so I'd assume Magaly would be equally attractive. ;)

I really don't like it at all ... sorry. But the important thing is that you like it. Also another concern should be that your child will have to live with this name for their whole life and also kids at school can somethimes be cruel!

I don't care for it. I automatically think of maggots...or Mary Magdalene, not that it's a bad thing but it just sounds like a butchered version of it.

nope, sorry - sounds a bit like Magaluf (which is a spanish airport) too.
Madaleine (or a varient) would be very nice though.
