without a doubt. if they run the table that means they will have beaten Missouri and Won the Big 12 championship most likely against Oklahoma. I would bet my paycheck that not even the experts can deny that. However winning out is going to be tough. however your question just solidifies why we need a playoff system in college football Division 1A.

Ok, an explanation of all the tricky BCS math can be found at the link below- unless you're bored its not worth it.
If Kansas runs the board lets just run some conservative projections on their standing in the BCS...
Ok, if Kansas beats OU they will obviously jump them in the USA Today and Harris polls, now lets say they perfectly flipflop points in those polls (when in reality they will have many many more points then OU- but we're being conservative) Kansas's new Poll Average would be .9240 behind Oregon's .9383 (a difference of .0143).
Now for the Computers... lets assume that two Computer polls will rank an undefeated Kansas first that do not already (again, only two to be conservative). This would net Kansas +.050 to their computer average, for a new poll average of .9407! HOLY CRAP THE JAYHAWKS ARE GOING TO THE BIG ONE!!!
Remember that's not even wasting the time to figure out how those computer polls shifting would affect Oregon's average (.9316- I wasted the time) and assuming Kansas would not jump beyond third in EITHER of the human polls or earn more points then this week's #3 - both highly unlikely (like, umm, one is impossible).
So yes, If Kansas wins out they will be in the National Championship- easy.

If the BCS people arent smoking crack that day they should. KU would have 2 wins over teams that would be ranked in the Top 5 as of right now. Oregon and LSU can blow people out the remaining schedule and KU still should be the #1 team in the nation if they win out......Now with all that said, I think they will lose to one of the 2 teams and finish with a nice little bowl game. So much for the weak Big 12 conference that everyone talked about not so long ago.

If I understood the BCS formula, I could give you a better answer, but I think KU will have to beat Missouri, and OK in the Big 12 championship, and you have to have a poor showing by Oregon or a loss. It seems that it may be hard for KU to take alot of votes away, many people think Oregon is the best team in the country regardless of their one loss.

As for LSU, there is still alot of football left....Ole miss will show up on LSD.....and Arkansas will be playing like theres no tomorrow.....If UGA makes to the SEC champ It will be the most hyped up SEC Championship in history.........
If LSU wins out they will definately be there.
If Kansas wins out they will have a good chance at overtaking Oregon in the polls..........
If LSU loses a game..........Oregon Kansas Mizzou and choklahoma all have a real good chance.....

Iowa State - easy win
If they beat Missouri and Oklahoma, then I could see it happening.
But it's a tough call, because of the games they've played so far, it looks like only TWO of those teams have winning records (now). Fluffy schedule??
In fact, as of now, only half of the Big 12 has winning records. Compare to 10 (of 11) from the Big 10 with winning records, and 10 (of 12) from the SEC with winning records... Interesting.

IF they run the table they will play LSU if they also run the table or Oregon if LSU losses a game. More likely it will be LSU and Oklahoma

If all the undefeated teams remain that way, KS will have a gr8r chance of playing in the BCS Bowl then HI. I think the Rainbows will play in one of the other four bowl games just as the previous undefeated Western Athletic darlings, Boise State University, had. I'd like 2 c Hawai'i top a thrilling Fiesta Bowl game as the Broncos did!

Yes, if they run the table no sane person could deny them a title game. If they beat Mizzou, they should be #1 (actually, they should be #1 right now using the same criteria they used to make OSU #1). That will be a steep task though. They have to beat Mizzou which is actually a little better team, and then beat OU which may be the best team in the country.
