They should just because they only gave Tyrone Willingham 3 years and Weis is in his 3rd year now. Notre Dame won't fire him, but I think it would help there "racist" image. They definitely should. They have the #1 recruiting class. Let someone else coach that class.

The report I heard was that the Saints were recruiting Charlie Weis from the Patriots at the same time that Notre Dame was. To attract him, Notre Dame signed Weis to a guaranteed multi-year contract. He has like 5 or 6 years left on the contract,. He would collect his salary even if he were fired. As a university, Notre Dame probably does not want to waste its alumni money that way.

Weis won with Willingham's players. That is undesputable. Right now though, Weis is under contract until 2015, so it would cost a fortune for Notre Dame to buy him out. So for now, he's staying put. While this season has been extremely pathetic, next season will determine whether or not Weis will be on the hot-seat. I don't believe he should be fired yet. He should be given a chance to develop his own players. (UNC basketball thrived with Daughtery's players in the system) If his young players and recruits turn out, all will be well in South Bend.

People keep saying Charlie Weiss is a hell of a recruiter, why doesn't he work for the military, now that they can't get enough recruits,as for Charlie as a coach, his record speaks for itself, and as for firing him,no way,he's got a contract that will keep him on steak n lobster for the rest of his life
I question the intelligence of the Notre Dame administration in making such a deal with him,I hope they don't teach that type of economics to the student body

Yeah because Willingham got canned for nothing. If they go based on their expectations he should be canned too. Ty recruited Brady Quinn. It shows who the real brains are! Just like in the NFL when Dungy got hosed by Chucky. That dummy won a Super Bowl with Dungy's players and hasn't done jack since.

No. You don't fire him just because of one bad year. That is exactly what is wrong with sports. He is still landing the best recruiting class for next year, despite how bad his team sucks. Give him a couple yrs to see how HIS recruits and HIS team pan out and then judge.

It's all Bush's fault! The Patriots cheat! Give the fat man a few more years to turn things around, at least he's white. ND wouldn't keep him if he was black, they showed that.
