A-Rod is a great player but I don't want him anywhere near the Red Sox. Is personality doesn't blend with the rest of the Sox team and he can't produce in the post season. Daisuke Matsuzaka had more RBI's this post season than A-Rod did. So I say no to A-Rod.

I think if you believe that Lowell for four years is better than Arod for 8, you are missing the point. The Sox would have the three best hitters in the game in the lineup. Period. Arod would put more dents in the Monster than any ten players before him. It is completely LUDICROUS for a Sox fan to think the team would not be better with Arod. Now if they dont want to sign him for other reasons, fine and good. But if performance is the issue...and it should be...they should be all over him like white on rice.

I think Lowell should remain a Red Sox-he has thrived there. Alex Rodriguez should become a Cub, reuniting him with the games' best manager, Lou Pinella. I don't think its' any accident that all the youngsters' that broke in with Lou in Seattle are great players. Griffey and Ichiro are two other good examples. Even the vets had their prime-producing years with him: Randy Johnson, both Martinezs', Jay Buhner, and Jamie Moyer, to name a few. ARod would and could potentially hit up to 80 HRs' a year in Wrigley Park, getting him past Bonds even sooner. ARod would also be treated as royalty in Chicago-always. Finally, with him, they are a certain WS contender annually.

Thats alot of money to sink into a player without knowing if he can handle the position that you want him to play at.

A team that signs A-Rod hoping that he can be a gold glove SS again could be in for a rude awakening.

You just don't see to many players leave a postion, play another for a number of years and then go back and not lose something.

I will say that I felt at the time that A-Rod was the best SS on the Yankees and they were foolish for moving him to 3B. Personally I would have moved Jeter to 2B.

No, just no. I can't stand the man. He isn't a team player. He is a selfish, self-centered arrogant jerk. He made that blatantly clear when he couldn't even respect his wife enough to be discreet about his extra-curricular activities. I think he would be nothing but trouble for the Sox clubhouse. Not to mention the ludicrous amount of money he thinks he is worth. Maybe if he was good as more than a bench warmer in the post-season. But since he collapses like a folding chair, forget about it.

Why not bring the best player in baseball to the best team for the next 5-10 years in baseball. He can play short, but only with a serious attitude adjustment. A serious one! GO SOX BABY!

If your team can afford arod you should want him. I'm an A's fan he makes more then our entire roster so I don't have that luxury. He can still play short so that would work but I don't see this happening anyway.

Rodriguez is the most overrated and overpaid player in the game, purely because of his postseason performances. Granted, he is utterly amazing during the regular season and can carry a team TO the playoffs, but what good is a player that simply cannot help his team once they get there?

I'm a Cardinals fan and know there's a lot of baggage, but I'd take the risk with A-Rod. It would be sweet to have:

3B - Rolen
SS - Rodriguez
2B - platoon/spare
1B - Pujols
