Yes i totally agree with u. Josh Beckett should have won the cy young award, but all of these jealous ny columnists wanted c.c to win it.

CC deserved the Cy. Beckett was excellent, and if he would have kept up his first half performance, he would have won it (12-2 before the break, 8-5 after), but he just didn't play as well as he did at the beginning of the season. Sabathia didn't do as well after the break either, but he managed to drop his ERA nearly a run and strike out almost 100 batters. CC also was a horse, leading the AL in IP.

To the people that are saying that cc pitched more innings,HE HAD TO his team wasnt as good, should beckett be penalized for having a better team around him? so he could be taken out in the 7th instead of having to stay 8 or a full nine, plus this is the first i can recall that a cy young was NOT givin to the picher with the best record,BECKETT WAS SNUBBED.

It wasn't a robbery. They were close in the regular season--but certainly not in the ALCS. As noted on an earlier question today, Beckett's lost Cy Young bonus from the Red Sox is partially offset by his World Series share from MLB, and that is probably all he cares about.

I'm not a Red Sox fan but Josh Beckett deserved to win. This probably the last you will ever hear of Sabathia. He will eat himself out of the league like Colon.

It was f'd up only if you want to count the postseason, which you cant do.
C.C. Sabathia definitely deserved that award, you should really go look at the numbers, very similar except that C.C . pitched like 40 more innings than Josh Beckett, I think that's what put him on top.

I know how you feel pal, about this award given to C.C. I also though Josh was the winner of this award. I felt the same way when our home town friend who played for the Texas Rangers outfield Mr Ruben "Indio"Sierra was suppose to get the MVP award and instead it was given to the Milwaukee Brewers (SS) Mr. Robin Young.

If the votes were done after the playoffs Beckett would have won hands down, but they have to be in prior to them. CC was a solid choice.

I agree with C.C. We're talking regular season and who honestly expected the Indians in the post-season?
