Absolutely! I can't see why anyone would be naive enough to believe that we are the only life form that exists. As for the recent UFO conference, I loved what John Callahan, a former Federal Aviation Administration investigator said in regards to how in 1997 the CIA tried to hush up the sighting of a huge lighted ball four times the size of a jumbo jet in Alaska. "It's a question of who you going to believe: your lying eyes or the government?"

there's tons of life. (literally.)
slime mold.
bacteria.
viruses.

OH, you mean inteliigent, technological life?
that's different.
keep in mind, that our system is 4 billion years old.
our technolical society has been around 50 years.
(that's how old transisters are.)
and, several times, we've been at the brink of blowing ourselves up, for various reasons.
there's no reason to think that every other technological society would not go through that form of insanity.
being generous, let's give ourselves 50 more years to do out selves in.
SO, the odds of somene outside the solar system contacting us is 1:40,000,000.
pretty slim.
the odds of some other SPECIFIC technological society contacting us are slimer, allowing for the 15 billion year span of the universe.

if that's not bad enough, think about how far away stuff is.
it would take the space shuttle 175,000 years to get to Alphi Centuri, the nearest star, just to see if there are any planets there.
(that is one way, mind you.)

no, we're not going visiting, and they're not about to come here.

HOWEVER, if there are folks out there, AND, if they can get here, DO we want them to come visit?
I maintain, probably not.
Life becomes dominant by defeating rival forms.
It works here. It works there too.
If they're able to come visit, it's not unlikely that to a great degree, they've depleated the resources at home.
and earth, despite what we've done, is a pretty nice place.
it would not be unlikely that they'd consider us somewhat similar to a pest species, to be cleaned up, before they move in.

i sort'a like things the way they are, thank you

well I don't think that UFOs is real but maybe on other planets it might be real there is still many things to be discover and we
just don't know it yet. And maybe UFOs does exist adn we just never seen it before.
