Technically it is possible, if you know the IP addresses, you can do simple stuff like downloading mail through POP/IMAP and sending mail through a SMTP.

Surfing the net is a different ballgame, you would require a DNS server configured to resolve the domain names. Even if you know the IP, the page that you are loading will not contain IPs but addresses like images.google.com/something which again would require you to use a DNS server.

You could likely get to the first internet host if you knew it's numerical IP address, but if it is serving up other web pages with links to other sites, you'll need DNS (domain name server).

No sorry you need dns to resolve the domain name server to ip address...like www.yahoo.com is actually something like 206.192.x.x so you are routing to this service. So no DNS no loading web page.

its not impossible, as long as you know the exact IP of the host your contacting....
