ford falcon is the same car and also you might want to check out mustang parts as they shared some parts with the falcon and comet.

NAPA lists pitman arms for 1965 Comet with a 170 cubic inch engine and the 200 cubic inch engine. They list for $160 plus $100 core charge. I have not been able to find a listing for an 8 cylinder Comet. I would suggest you get the original Mercury part number from a dealer (see if Mercury offers a replacement from a later model. It will be listed in the parts catalog) and type the part number into a search engine. Besides finding one on E bay, you'll probably come across a place or an individual who has other parts for the car. Years ago I knew of a place (It may have been located in Oklahoma) called "Obsolete Ford Parts." I did find a couple of listings under www.thunderbirdconn.com and Kanter auto parts. The Comet was the sister car to the Falcon until 1966 when it was redesigned and became the sister to the Fairlane. The two posts above mine show places where you can probably find it so the part is out there.
