My Advantium microwave/oven suddenly quit working. I love this appliance. Am baking bread in the big oven on the stove and heating up soup on the burner. I really miss the convenience. I hear it's healthier to not microwave foods anyway.

I would be devastated without my microwave and toaster oven.
Take my brown hair, take my pocketbook but don't take my microwave and toaster oven!

I have a toaster oven and a microwave. I can't use them at the same time as I live in a 8 X 30 travel trailer. (I am not and can't running on full power here.) But the microwave is used every day and several times a day. I heat up food or drinks, cook, and defrost with it. The toaster oven I use to bake in as the oven that came in my trailer runs on propane. If either one of them went out on me I would go get another one as soon as possible even if I had to borrow the money. I would miss either one of them very badly.

Can't see the point in either. The last apartment I lived in had a built in microwave..the only thing I ever used it for was to heat up leftovers, pop corn and heat up my morning coffee if it got cool. Not much use for it, actually. I love to cook so don't use those pre-packaged, chemical and sodium riddle dinner thingies .....

Never had a toaster oven but am thinking about one. My daughter has one and I have been impressed. Living alone, it would be nice to use something smaller than my energy-eating full size oven for a baked potato...HA!

I simply love to cook and cook from scratch. I do use some canned things - like beans for chili, organic tomatos for sauces and soups, etc but I'd rather buy and prepare something fresh. It's cheaper and better tasting.

Our previous micro went out on us last December. And we got an older one at a thrift store. We planned to 'limp' through the holidays, after it too went out two weeks later.
What a surprise to get a brand new one on Christmas Eve
from our daughter and SIL. I sat there staring at the box. I
couldn't believe a new microwave was actually inside. And it was so pretty I almost hated to use it the first time. Because It has a brushed stainless exterior and with the black glass it really looks classy LOL.
Only thing is, I have to Windex it often due to the finger prints LOL.That was the first time our daughter ever gave us an expensive gift. It sure beat the sweat pants we got the Christmas before :)
And we definitely have missed having a microwave when the've gone out on us over our years of depending on them.

I cook everything on an electric hotplate, cast iron skillet or a pot. No microwave, no toaster oven. I have had a microwave off and on but don't miss it one way or the other. I had a toaster oven a long time ago but if I remember right, it was hard to clean.

I don't own a toaster oven but I have two microwaves built into the kitchen and use them both simultaneously all the time. I would hate going back to the old way of cooking.

i barely use the microwave to start with. though my brother lives by it. he would starve without it lol if you take something cooked from the micro and compair it to something cooked by the stove/oven it is just so much better. the flavors are amazing when you just get down to it. cooking is an art to me and im no chef. but id hate to think of what our grandmothers would say if everyone ignored the stove for the micro. shortcuts dont make the food any better it just saves time but you have a price to pay for that time saved. and to me the time lost over the stove is well worth it.

We don't use ours all that often. Don't have a toaster oven, so we already don't miss that. If the microwave went out, yeah, it would be missed but it's not something that we use all the time anyway.

If my microwave quit I would bring in the one I have in the storage compartment so fast it would make your head spin! I use mine everyday. I don't have a toaster oven anymore. I gave it away when I got the table top convection oven. I live in an RV with limited counter space. I use it instead of my stove's oven.

I would truly miss the microwave. I have even been known to do a Thanksgiving Turkey (18lbs.) in my Mom's microwave. It was really good.

I do the things that people really don't consider doing in a microwave such as cornbread and, if I'm in a hurry, a cake.

Microwaves are really nice for warming things up fast. I love my two.
