Your computer has a time synchronization option. That is you can synchronize your PC's clock with a standard internet time server. Do the following:

Right click on the time => Adjust Date/Time => you'll find a tab called "internet time" (usually 3rd tab).

On this tab verify if the "Automatically synchronize with an Internet Time server" check box is checked if not check it.
By default a time server should be selected. I have it set to time.windows.com.

Just click Update Now button. After this the time will be automatically synchronize with that server. Ofcourse for all this to work you need to have internet connection.

there is in all possibility a concern consisting of your BIOS clock. you need to attempt the BIOS battery, because makes particular the computing device keeps its time, and additionally it shops the BIOS settings that are man or woman on your computing device. as quickly as you have achieved that, pass right into a while settings in domicile windows, set the spectacular time, after which sychronise with the two the microsoft server, or the different server, or the two. Your computing device ought to save the time. If no longer, then the motherboard is the main probably concern, and additionally won't have the spectacular time zone. while you're at it, take a glance at a while zone on your administration panel, below interior of reach settings, and make particular it somewhat is desperate to the spectacular area. desire I helped.

i would suggest your internal back up battery is flat and until that is fixed the clock will always reset --- there is also a button to allow the computer to check the time when you are online just enable that and it should fix that up --- if it still keeps losing time there are more serious problems with your system ---- best wishes

It will reset because there is no power keeping it running. This will be happening because you probably don't have a battery, or a battery that lasts long in your computer. So when you turn the computer off the time resets. The only way you could fix this is buy a battery.

Set it up so that you are automatically connected to a time keeping "server" computer that synchronizes your computer's internal clock to the external server (that is probably "serving" an atomic clock). I do this with my computer - its accurate to within about 1 second all the time.

how old is the laptop, the clock battery might be worn out. also check your system bios (press delete when it is turing on and it says press delete) be carefull in there, only change things about the clock, if you accidentlay change sumthing else then exit without saving or you might kill your laptop. as long as you use common sence in th bios nothing will go rong

if yr computer clock does not show correct time/date most probable cause is that small, round battery located on yr motherboard is very weak - that small battery is in charge of keeping yr time/date settings accurate when yr computer is off - it is small, round type battery - same as one used in wrist watches and calculators - to change it is real easy - job for dummies - turn yr computer off, unplug it from the electric outlet, remove computer cover (generally located at the back side of computer), touch any metal part of yr computer to remove static electricity from yr body and look at motherboard and you'll see it - now write down battery type
(RS232 or something like that) that is written on the battery and go to Radio Shack to buy new one - they are real cheap - just a few bucks - come home - touch metal part of yr computer again to release static electricity from yr body and change it - done - put the cover back on - plug computer in electric socket, turn it on - works - you're set for the next 3-5 years which is the time until it gets weak again
now when yr computer is on do the following:
go to http://www.download.com and download small utility Atomic Clock Synch (in search window type Atomic Clock Synch - enter - magic comes) - after you download it left click the icon on desktop and it will open - now do these things:
- LEFT click on file (first item on the top left side) - small menu will pop-up - LEFT click 2 items - start with windows and synchronize daily - after that LEFT click Ping Now and Atomic Clock Synch will synchronize yr time/date with the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado run by National Institute of Standards and Time - it will do that automatically daily and ensure that yr computer clock is within 5-25 seconds off atomic clock (that is generally same as for wrist watches)
you will never again have to worry abt yr computer time/date EVEN when yr battery on motherboard gets weak -
Atomic Clock Synch is FREE DOWNLOAD and is compatible with ALL versions of windows (i had it windows me, xp and now in vista - works any time and anywhere)
IF YOU HAVE LAPTOP JUST DOWNLOAD THAT UTILITY AND IT WILL WORK - I WOULD NOT SUGGEST OPENING LAPTOP UNLESS YOU'RE REAL EXPERIENCED WITH COMPUTERS - IT WILL WORK
