Yes, I would say get a second opinion before you do anything like that. If the doctor did not answer your questions satisfactorily, then you need to go somewhere else. Best of luck to you, I hope you get good new.

That happened with my 1st pregnancy. I was 9 weeks when I went for my 1st ultrasound. The baby was only 6 weeks in size and there was no heartbeat. I was told by the doctor that I had an incomplete miscarriage. I couldn't believe it as I had no bleeding or cramping. 2 days later I started bleeding and then had a miscarriage 2 days after that. I had to have a d&c done. You can get a 2nd opinion but I would guess that the doctor was right. At 10 weeks you should definately see a heartbeat. If your baby has died it can still stay inside you for up to 8 weeks before you start to have any symptoms of miscarriage.

I did have this happen and I kinda did have a second opinion the doc I had did my u/s at 8weeks and she didn't see a h/b and she sent me to the hosp where they had a more elaborate system and they said they couldn't find any blood flow. So they scedualed me for a d & c the next morning. I have heard in the yr since that a lady a friend of mine told me was told the same thing and her and her husband didn't believe it so they went home and prayed alot and the next appt two weeks later they found the h/b. (if you believe in prayer and you arent comfortable with what they are saying you can try that but if not I would say get the d & c and let your body get through it and you can cope alot better. You can always go to the hosp where they usually have better machines. I am sorrry you are having to go through this I know how hard it hurts. HUGS GL

I'm really sorry but the exact same thing happened to me when I was about 12 weeks. I never had any bleeding for a while but then it eventually did come with some cramping. If he didnt hear or see a heartbeat at 10 weeks the signs arn't good. But just in case it wouldn' t hurt to go to another doctor, because you never know. Good luck.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like it. They will most likely perform another ultra sound if you request it. I had this happen with me on my first pregnancy. I went in for my ultra sound at 10 weeks and found out the baby had passed at 8 weeks. No heartbeat.
