it wouldn't break my heart in the jealous sense, but in the sense that this is someone i spent my life with and he can't help it, but he doesn't remember me, and being with another woman is the only thing that makes him happy.

My grandpa died with this disease and it was heartbreaking to walk into the room and him not know who I was. It's like that person has already died. You can't get through to them because they can't remember - that's basically what i meant

I understand what you are trying to say, Alzheimer's is a cruel disease, they call it the long good bye. Yes it would break my heart but as long as he seems to be calm and happy for what ever time he has left would help me through it.

I see what you mean, but the person he was and the person she knew is different now and may not even know her. Maybe she is just glad that he is happy and she can get on with HER life without feeling guilty about him. We all must learn to be more broad minded and put the facts of mental conditions in perspective, and they are hardly very young and probably being jealous is not a factor , and there again it leaves her free to form new relationships herself.

What?? That makes no sense.

Why would it break your heart for your spouse to be happy? Is there something specific that they want, that you do not want? We need more info here.

well when people get in that mode, they themselves don't really know whats going on. and if its fullblown, all you can do is hope that they are happy in their own little world. that's an awful disease. and its very sad, and theirs not really a cure for it.

If your spouse has more women, you may apply divorce or seek way to bring him back. Otherwise, live with it.

would what bother me? you didnt put any thing about your question?

edit now....
i would just be happy that he was happy. i would be sad though that he didnt remember me. it would be tough for someone to be married for so long to be forgotten.
