My son is seven months and teething and the doctor said that I could give him Motrin because its stronger and lasts longer than Tylenol. I dont remember how much he told me to give him. He is approx 18 pounds. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

1.875 mL of the Motrin Infant drops. It should come with a dropper with that measurement on it. Once every 6 hours.

Make sure you read the bottle. It may say it isn't suitable for a child under a certain age or weight.

If it is alright to take and the child has a fever, etc. you could possibly alternate Tylenol and Motrin. Motrin now, Tylenol 4 hours later, Motrin again.

I am not a doctor, but this is what the doctor has told me and I have done this with my daughter who is now 5.

Make sure you read the Motrin before you give it to the baby. If it does not mention your child's age and weight, don't give it to the baby.

Usually on the label it will say how much you can give your baby. We use Tylenol for our daughter and she is almost 11 months old and we give her 3 to 4 drops and it helps her tremendously! I would google it and see what you come up with. Poor little guy!

I'd skip the medicine if it isn't stictly necessary, let him chew on a cool washrag over your finger. But if YOU can't stand it anymore, see Dr. Sears website, they have the info.
