Bottles and cribs are NOT essentials. Google "safe co-sleeping" and read up on nursing.

You need a car seat and diapers and clothes.

You need a lot of what amount to rags for wipes and burps.

A sling and/or carrier is a lifesaver. I would also say that you do not need a stroller, at least not off the bat; a newborn belongs in a parent's arms (or a parent's sling), not some giant SUV stroller.
