I have to create a BIO BOARD.

I'm in AP European History.

It has to be about a western PHILOSOPHER - the guy has to be a philosopher.
OR
A school of Philosophy.

I don't know about these... but I found these people on a website:

Saint Thomas, Saint Augusten, NOT Saint Paul.

John Paul Sarcter.

From a biographical point of view, one of the best great philosophers is Jean Jacque Rousseau:

!. He was a fascinating guy
2. There's a lot of stuff available about him on the internet
3. He's wielded astounding influence across many strata of our lives
4. He captivated a nation (France) and helped plunge it into revolution.

The main title/text entry at the top of your board should read:

"Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains."

You'll be able to explain that quote later on the board. It will be an intriguing presentation!

it's actually spelled "St. Augustine" and "Jean Paul Sartre"

But definitly do NOT start with Sartre. Sartre was an existentialist, and at times can be incredibly difficult to comprehend.

Generally speaking, the best place to start in philosophy is with the founders: Plato and/or Aristotle.

If you are of a Christian back-ground, and want to focus on Christian philosophers, St. Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas are going to be your best bet. St. Augustine blended Christianity with neo-platonism, and St Thomas Aquinas reintroduced Aristotlianism into Christian metaphysics.

Another decent place to start would be Renee Descartes, but you might want to get assistance if you go with Descartes.
