Redtail Sharks will easily top 5 inches, and 6 inches isn't uncommon. For this reason, you will want at the VERY LEAST 20 gallons, but more is always better. Not only should Redtail Sharks be the only shark in the tank, they should also be kept away from small, non-territorial fish like Livebearers, or slow moving fish like Bettas. EDIT: Don't forget that you will have to do weekly maintenance in the form of siphoning waste out of the gravel. If you don't, you will have a rise in nitrogen compounds, which can easily kill fish.

First things first - is this an established and fully cycled tank? If not, don't put anything else in it. Too much too soon = everything dead.
A bigger tank is more forgiving of errors, and will give more territory. They each have their own personality, and some will be more aggressive than others (and likely more aggressive in smaller spaces, too).
Check the link for info on pH, temp, perferred habitat, etc.

it will be 3.9 inches to 4.7 inches
it is recommend to keep there water temp. at 22.0 - 27.0 C ( 71.6 - 80.6 F)
some fish that would be good would be the plecostomus catfish, or some guppies ( like 2 depending on ur tank), or some tetras i like neon ones you should have at least 3 because they like being in a group

you should double check with some people and check you sharks temperament before putting any of the fish that a recommend

Good luck and if you have any questions just e-mail me
