Yes. It hurts! If you have all the friends you need, I suppose you get on with your day. But if you're lonely to begin with, it can really ruin your spirits and give rise to a lot of bitterness.
People give subtle signals that are very rude and demeaning all the time. For instance: I say hello to a girl I know in the hallway and she literally looks away from me without responding. Or I'm talking to someone and in the middle of my sentence they leave me standing and run off to greet someone. Or how about someone who looks at everyone else but refuses to make eye contact with you? This will happen in a group of three, and suddenly you feel as if you are not there.
The worst part of it is that as hurtful and rude as this subtle behavior is, if you say anything about it you end up looking like an a$$. Or at least whiny and needy.
I don't waste my time with people who don't listen to me. But sometimes we're forced to interact with these people, and what can be done? The best thing is not to reciprocate the signals they are sending you. Sometimes it may just be the person or some coincidental factor.

Not for a long time, then some new neighbors moved in. There's only 4 houses on the street, and one man is 89. So my other neighbor and I were certain to say, "Hello" and "Welcome to the neighborhood. Let us know if there's anything you need or we can do.". I even took 2 mum plants over with a welcome card and left it on their porch as they are a youngish couple and must work a lot since they are rarely home. They did plant the mums, and do wave and say hello when I speak first, but I have no clue after 3 months if they like me or not. Not that it's that important. Neighbors don't always make the best friends. That really got long.

Yes, sometimes they just take their anger on me or they think that I'm weird but I'm not. Othertimes it can be because of race.I'm 100%Filipino.When I was six or seven years old, one of my aunts did not like me because I looked Chinese and I asked why. They said that Filipinos are more supperior looking Spanish or Caucasian than Oriental Asian. Now that one aunt likes me because I don't look Chinese anymore only a tiny bit. Another reason why people are like that is if you remind them of a bad memory. Someone told me that I remind them of a time when they saw a man that looks like me do very inappropriate things.

Sometimes yes, but realize it is there loss. I know it is easier said then done. It's hard not to worry. That's basically what humans do! Everybody, even the so-called "popular" people in our worlds have felt this way, so don't feel sad. It's their fault because they haven't taken the time to really get to know you. But if you really want to know I'd ask them.

All the time. I get misunderstood, because Im kinda quiet and tend to keep to myself , I speak and smile but dont really associate with my co workers because for one, like i said Im quiet and two I just dont like office drama. I tend to dress nice at all times and people think that I think that Im better than them, and I've even been told this.

Nope, but I have friends who feel that way. For one of my friends.. I know why, it's because she talks to much and the people she talk about find out and she will stay in denial forever.
