Five days ago I woke up with severe cramps, and there was blood everywhere. I must have lost at least a pint from "down there" and other...objects. I've been feeling faint and ill ever since. I am on the pill, but I'm retarded and had unprotected sex during the time my ovulation should have been. I would have been three weeks. I am terrified of going to a doctor, most of all telling my boyfriend. Any advice/experiences to share?

Thank you!!!

This happened last saturday night. I'm afraid to tell him because I'm afraid it will estrange us. Sign of a healthy realtionship isn't it? Not even confident of telling him something like this. I've become one of those women you shake your head at for staying with "that guy".

Thank you for your help. It was very useful.

I've been on this pill for 4 months now, I ended a cycle, had a quite light period, then two weeks later this happened. I'll have spotting if I miss a pill, which I hardly ever do, but this was bleeding bleeding. This was more blood than 3 periods together at the same time...

I don't have anyone who can go with me to a doctor, I don't know anyone who I can talk to this about. Hurray for the internet...thanks again.

You might have an early miscarriage, or even possibly an early abortion caused by the hormones in the pill. It's not normal to have very heavy bleeding and cramps and faintness while on the pill.

Birth control changes the lining of the uterus making it very hostile to a newly conceived human. This can cause a very early abortion.

Well, since people got here before me there might not be much uniqe I can say.
It seems as if you had a miscarriage. I miscarried 1 week ago with triplets and I bleed excessively.
It could also be because of your birth control. Birth control pills keep your estrogen and progestrone levels normal. When these horomones are normal, they don't signal the egg to release. But the tissue in the uterus still thicken to prepare the the egg that isn't coming. The pill keeps the period from starting( most of the time, or either the period is light). 3 things can happen if you miss a pill,( Even once!)

1) Horomone are able to rise and release an egg, but the horomone level isn't as stable. The egg implants, and you are now pregnant. But the pregnancy doesn't succed because of an unstable horomone level. Therefore, you have a miscarriage.

2) you have a period, but the built up tissues must come out some how. So you just have a heavier period.

3) You can get pregnant

In any case, these have proved that the pill has failed you this time so when you had sex while ovulating you very well could've gotten pregnant. Just take a pregnancy test to be sure, it's alot easier and discrete.
Please do not hide this from your boyfriend. I thought the same to mine and when he found out I was pregnant he was mad I didn't tell him. When two people love each other they will come to an understanding about everything. If he flips, tell him that you need him so you figure out what you're going to do about a possible pregnancy. Abort, or keep?
A unplanned baby can complicate a weak relationship, but hiding feelings, one sidedness, and no team work can serverly ruin a relationship.
I hope I helped, and if you're pregnant I hope you keep the baby. It's a blessing from god, who doesn't want a blessing?

You poor girl. It sounds like it could for been a miscarriage. But there is other things it could be to. Hormone imbalances - can stop ovulation (egg release) leading to build-up of endometrium and can cause a heavier period. So that just means there is a lot of blood and big clots. If it happen again there is tablets you can get to slow it down. There also is Endometrial hyperplasia - thickening of the lining of the uterus, leading to heavier bleeding. That happens to 1 in 5 women. so you are not alone. It has happened to me. You really should go to the doctors. Do you have a friend that could go with you. You also may need a new pill it sounds like this one is not working for you. Make sure you drink lots of water and take care of your self.

OK...Why are you on yahoo and not at the ER. It does sound to me like you miscarried. but it definately needs to be checked out. And I agree with the previous poster, why are you scared to tell your boyfriend? You need all of the support you can get at this time.

You need to go to the doctor, why are you afraid? And why are you afraid of telling your BF? There's more to this than you've told us.
