God is not mental (ego) or physical, so it means we were created in God's spiritual image.
I don't know any Christian who fears he/she evolved from monkeys. All of the Christians I know are certain that God is their creator. YOU may have come from monkeys if that's what you want to believe. I didn't. God created me.

That's a good question. I'm not sure, actually. I guess I always just assumed that when they say we were created in God's image, that meant God looks like us. A regular human being. You know, with a bunch of light and angels around him and stuff.

Jesus were just riddles and analogy as means of our universal creator in communicating with living human kind on planet earth.
Ever wonder we were suppose to learn and master our creator's universal gift of life for the creation of living human kind into mankind of intelligent design to be the Son of God.
The purpose of life is to find our way home in honouring and worshiping God.
Somehow with blunders and slip-ups with human errors created back in the past.
We were all at loss and stranded on planet earth.
At loss with the missing x-files that was lost with time.

Let see the Genesis, " the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
Obviously, man's physical body was from dust which is not in any image of God. Then, God add his spirit into our bodies to make our soul.
That means, our souls are equal to God at that time but our bodies are nothing to do with God. Once combined, our bodies modified the soul to form a unity of body and soul.
In fact, most theologians consider trinity as "three Persons in one God". Those are referring to personality. That means, for holy people or halloweens, they are in God's personality. For man, as corrupted beast (or our bodies modified the soul), our personality were a distortion from God, i.e. now we have our own personalities.
